Sophie was running skinny and scared up the hills of a village, disappearing and never seen again. Two months later a dog like her appeared at a cats' feeding station not far away. It was Sophie! But she was so terrified that no one could approach her. Trapping her was the only way and even that took a while. She was in a terrible condition, covered in the biggest ticks I've ever seen, tens of them! Sophie is quite wary of new people and especially men. But how can you blame her?... We had to xray Sophie for a totally different reason and were shocked to find out that she was shot and has pellets in her body. Sophie is only about 2 and a half years old and only God knows how much he has suffered for her short life. She shares a kennel with her best friend Urania who is a lot more confident and gives great reassurance to Sophie. Ideally we are looking to rehome them together. We know how difficult that might be but we can only try. If not adopted together then Sophie needs a resident dog who is confident and will help her build her confidence too. She needs a patient owner who can show her one step at a time that to trust people again is OK.
