Meet absolutely gorgeous Rita. Just like most of the dogs that we have taken in the last few months, Rita was brought to the vet to test her for leishmania and once the test came positive, her "loving" owner said "Eh we put her one injection and she will go to sleep". He said he had spent enough money on her already so doesn't want to spend more. And so Rita stayed in the clinic with me. Rita went to a foster home from where she moved to a potential forever home but the people changed their mind and so now she is in kennels. Rita is almost 6 years old. She is a very happy girl, just loves everyone. She loves other dogs. Rita is happy to go for a nice walk and eaqually happy to just sit in the garden or snooze on the bed and chill. She absolutely loves having her ears rubbed too. Having done her treatment Rita's latest results showed that her leishmania is in remission and her levels are borderline. So all she needs is to take 1 cheap pill a day to keep the leish dormant. You can't even tell that she has it. Rita will make an incredible companion and anyone that adopts her will be lucky to have her as a part of their family.
