💔Reuben💔 Every rescue touches us in a different way but Reuben's story is one that is hard to ever forget. After following a dog that someone told us about, we came to discover something horrific. A fenced off derelict house in the middle of nowhere, dogs on chains in terrible condition. One of those dogs was Reuben. Chained, scared, emaciated, hiding in a corner petrified. He was confiscated by vet services and came under our care. Since then Reuben has come such a long way. He is just over 3 years old and I dread to think what he's been through in his short life. He tested positive for leishmania too but has done his treatment and just needs a pill a day. The worst out of everything, which we found out later on after thorough examination, is that poor Reuben was hit by a car at some point of his life. I cannot even imagine the pain this beautiful boy must have been in, left without any medical treatment, with no one to care and show him love. How scared and alone he must have felt 💔 He was left with a broken tail and damaged external sphincter muscle. After a long discussion with the vet, a surgery isn't recommended as there is a chance it makes things worse. Because of the accident Reuben's bowel movement isn't 100% right. He doesn't have a full control which means that when he plays with other dogs and moves, few bits can drop. With special diet this is more manageable. When poop stays on his bottom it can very easily be wiped off. Not much different than when you have a child. Despite the terrible life Reuben has had up to now he still trusts people, he totally loves life, has so much love to give and cuddling is his specialty. Reuben loves food which makes him very easily trainable. He isn't good with cats but totally loves other dogs and having a buddy to play with will be a big plus. His loving and playful personality makes your heart smile. I am asking you just this one thing, please give him a chance. Don't turn your backs on him because he is "different". He is just SPECIAL ❤ You give him a home and show him love, his heart will be forever yours. He deserves so much more than he can have here. Green grass, walks in the wood, beaches, so many places to explore. Can you be the one to give him the life he should have had? If so please fill in the application form below and message me.
