Murphy (Harris)

Murphy (2 years 7 months) , a rescued dog from Cyprus, is a handsome, loving boy. His favourite thing is playing fetch and lots and lots of long walks, followed by a nice sleep on the sofa!

Murphy is a big boy. He weighs around 30kg, and is lean and fit.
Murphy has had a lot of training in his current home. He knows a wide range of commands and his recall, to his name, to “come” and to the whistle, are all very good. Murphy’s favourite command is “middle”, where he stands in between your legs and gets lots of tasty treats! Sometimes, Murph will even do this when not asked as he is ever hopeful for more treats!
Murphy is a fantastic dog the majority of the time. However, Murphy can be food reactive and lead reactive. He has a high prey drive so any new owner would have to be aware of surroundings and lead him when required. Additionally, Murphy is muzzle trained, and this is currently only used for vet visits where he can be worried.

Murphy is a strong willed boy and dominant male. He has lived in a home with a mother and daughter, as well as a female older dog. Murphy is displaying protective behaviours which are not present with their male dog walker. It is therefore felt that Murphy would be best suited to a male owner . Murphy can be extremely strong and due to his physical size, would be best suited to a home with no children. He needs a fit, active owner.
Murphy is generally good with most other dogs. He is not good with cats or other small animals . He would be suited as an only dog or with female dog companions.
Murphy is microchip, vaccinated and neuter ,rescue backup provided .
