Janet
JANET is now ready for her furever family after a rough start in life and being born black which is seen by the locals as unlucky,
she was found on the streets and taken into the care of a local shelter where she thought she was safe. In July the shelter had a devastating fire and along with some of her friends she was rushed to a local pound, smelling of smoke and with a few minor burns.
After a few weeks she settled, burns fealed and with lots of TLC and new friends to play with, she is now ready to leave for her next chapter.
Janet is such an affectionate girl despite her start in life. She is about two years of age, a mixed hound breed of medium size, weighing in at 14 kgs.
She is fully vaccinated, neutered and all her blood tests are clear including for Brucella Canis and leishmania.
Janet is sociable with other dogs and people including children and is much loved by the pound volunteers who look after her. She does need some lead training but is improving and has been polite when meeting other dogs out on walks. Janet enjoys chasing a ball, playing with toys, doing some agility challenges & now responds well to 'sit' command. She is currently learning some other basic commands and is keen to learn.
