Sofia - GSD 8 yrs old - Cyprus shelter , simba Nicosia

Large breed , approx 30 pounds , low to medium energy

All dogs are born in complete innocence , fate hands some dogs a beautiful life in a loving home
And some like Sofia are dealt a raw deal

Sofia came to the shelter as a stray 3 years ago !! 3 long hard years , pacing the same kennel
Living the same 24 hrs over and over , trapped , imprisoned .It can really affect some dogs , however resilient they are , this life can profoundly impact them

Sofia has tried very hard to stay buyont, we know she tries , it's in her nature to be upbeat but with the best will in the world 3 years takes its toll on the best of dogs

Sofia can be described as a calm , well mannered lady ! She has an impeccable temperament always displaying well behaved characteristics, we definitely think Sofia had a home once
Playful still , adores human companship , always seeking out love and affection
Sofia definitely gravitates more towards people rather than doggy companions , we think she'd be better suited as an only dog to allow her to have all the attention to herself !

She's shares her kennel space with Blade another big GSD mix boy whos also has found himself invisible in the kennels. Sofia could likely also share her home with an older calmer male dog as well
She displays good basic commands being mostly well behaved when on a leash , another reason we feel she had a home once

Big dogs always find it more difficult to be adopted and sadly GSD even more so
This much maligned breed often find themselves in shelters for years or worse still euthanized

Sofia shouldn't be treated any differently because of her size or breed , she's just as worthy to find happiness as the next cute cuddly type

Having lost 3 years of her precious life languishing in kennels , now middle aged , making her even less adoptable as a result. we really don't want to see her lose anymore time in kennels

We must give these dogs a chance !!
